Olympic medalist Desirèe Henry led our International Women’s Day celebrations by presenting an amazing assembly to the pupils

The assembly focused on International Women’s Day and was hugely inspirational for all the pupils.

The athlete spoke about her journey to get to where she is today and how she's still aiming higher.

An interview, hosted by year 5 pupils, then took place with the sprinter. They asked brilliant questions like “What are your 3 main mottos?” and “What message would you like to give to young women?”

Desirèe Henry has won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay at the 2016 Rio Games, and a silver medal in the 4 × 100 m relay at the World Athletics Championships in London on 12 August 2017.
