Letter to families - We had to settle for Silver - UK Primary School of the Year!
Dear Families,
So close to Gold: We had to settle for Silver - UK Primary School of the Year!
At Woodpecker Hall Academy, everything the school does is centred on the care, education, and future of your children. That is why we are so proud of what the school has achieved by being nationally recognised for its excellence in teaching and learning.
The Pearson National Teaching Awards celebrate the very best schools in the UK. Earlier this year, as you may remember, the school was awarded a prestigious Silver Award from Pearson. This was a significant achievement in itself, with Headteacher Nicky Ross and her incredible team beating hundreds of other schools to the trophy.
At the weekend, the school attended a big ceremony in central London, where we hoped to bring home the Gold Award for Primary School of the Year. While we did not win the top prize, being named among the very best schools in the country is something that everyone in our community can be deeply proud of.
The work of our staff, in partnership with our families, changes lives. Together, we are giving children the skills and confidence to achieve beyond their wildest dreams. This recognition is a testament to what we can achieve as a united school community.
We are grateful for your continued support and, with this recognition, along with our fantastic exam results—amongst the very best in the borough—we are excited to keep building an even better community for all our children in our area.
Please help us spread the word about Woodpecker Hall Academy, especially to families looking for Reception and Nursery places. By sharing our achievements, you are helping to grow and strengthen the vibrant community we are so proud to be a part of.
Yours sincerely,
Marino Charalambous
