15 Hours of Free Childcare for working parents now available

From April 2024, eligible working parents of 2-year-olds will be able to access 15 hours of free childcare support.

The offer includes 15 hours of funded childcare per week for the 38 weeks a year we can provide care in our nursery.

Parents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

The government recommends you apply from 15 January to 28 February.

Eligibility

If your child is already 2 or turns 2 before March 31, 2024, you’ll get the hours from April 1, 2024.

If your child turns 2 between April 1 and August 31, 2024, you’ll get the hours from September 1, 2024.

Income criteria for working parents

Parents must earn at least £8,670 a year and less than £100,000 a year.

In the case of couples, both parents need to earn between these amounts.

Each parent or carer must earn more than the equivalent of 16 hours at the national living wage or minimum wage per week and less than £100,000 per year.

Other criteria

If you already receive 15 funded hours of childcare from the government, you cannot get these additional hours.

Claiming funded childcare

The application process differs depending on whether you have a government childcare account or not.

You’ll need to get a code for the funded hours to give to give us.

How to claim your code depends on whether you have a government ‘childcare account’. You’ll already have a childcare account if you get tax-free childcare.

If you don’t have a childcare account, you need to Apply for free childcare if you're working - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
